All courses are informed by industrial collaboration, giving you the the tools necessary to find and succeed in industrial employment. Industry experts from companies including Rolls Royce and Tata give regular guest lectures and insight into working in industry.
You have the option of a paid industrial placement in the third year of your degree. Links with industry mean students can work in top national and international companies.
Choose between BEng or MEng programmes, with the option for a year in industry. There is a wide choice of engineering subjects including Architectural, Civil, Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical, and Medical.
Cardiff engineering graduates are highly regarded by employers. 92% were employed and/or in further study, six months after graduating. (DLHE 2016/17).
In the latest Research Excellence Framework, Cardiff University ranked 1st for Civil Engineering and 7th for General Engineering (REF 2014).
Paid year in industry
Gain hands-on experience during a paid placement year. Cardiff University collaborates with international companies that include Bosch, BAE Systems, Rolls Royce and Tata Steel.
This year we're designing a hip implant for a total hip replacement. It's really, really interesting. I just find it to be a very important degree and I'm glad that I chose it. I'm really enjoying it.
